We began today with breakfast delivered to our room (complimentary).  We dined (with a friend - see below) overlooking the magic that is Capri.

Can you believe that view????

Everywhere you look here is a feast for the eyes.  And it's not easy to get here, so when you do, it's necessary to stop, take a breath or two and take it all in...

Today we are donning our exercise clothes and hiking.  There are numerous hikes in Capri that offer a multitude of vistas - some challenging and others easy for anyone.  Decisions, decisions...

More later post hiking...

And already looking forward to dinner tonight at Da Giorgio

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW!  We just returned from our 2 + hour hike.  "Breathtaking" doesn't even come close to describing it.

See for yourself:

We started in the main square - Piazza Umberto:

Lemons everywhere!

Here's the hike we chose to do:

Doug's favorite ship that we kept seeing and then got closer and closer to during our hike:

AND...we're off:
Unbelievable views at every turn:

Down, down, down, down....

Cool caves

Someone's home jutting out of the mountain:

FINALLY!  We're rewarded with the most amazing views of Faraglioni! The 3 limestone formations rise almost 350 feet above the water.  They are a symbol of Capri.

The first one is attached to the land, so it's called aptly Faraglione de Terra.  There's a famous restaurant at it's base with sunbathing called DA LUIGI.  The 2nd is called di Mezzo or de Stella.  And the furthest rock formation is Scopolo and is inhabited by blue lizards that are found nowhere else in the world.

Another steep walk down to a restaurant (La Fontelina) and beach with public access:

The beach area provides chairs and covered mattresses to lie on:

Post hike fun:

Lunch at Aurora - our friend Martha's favorite restaurant in Capri - - - SO perfect!

A few patrons that look familiar: Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Stephen Spielberg, Anne Hathaway with Valentino and Eva Longoria - all with the owner of Aurora

It's the oldest restaurant on the island - the food is fabulous.  It gets booked quickly in the evenings, so we were happy to lunch there and enjoy the amazing weather.

More and more and more people watching!
Superb freshly made warm focaccia!

 Amuse bouche of fried mozzarella:
 Incredibly delicious tuna tartare!
My caprese pizza was perfection!

We then walked all over Capri to shop and stroll and look at all the GORGEOUS flowers before deciding to stop again at Quisi Bar for a drink and more people watching...

View from Quisi Bar which is at an intersection in the middle of Capri off of the main piazza:

After having fun in the main area of Capri we strolled back to our hotel Brunella, read and relaxed in the sunshine and the showered and got ready for dinner.

As we were walking to dinner it rained a bit (for the first time in 2 weeks).  We ducked in a shop and bought umbrellas and made our way to Da Giorgio for dinner.

The restaurant is on the other side of Capri from our hotel so offered different views.

We were greeted and seated with the best seats in the house since our Maitre'd used to work at the restaurant at our hotel.

We began with a Braesola salad - delish!
And an eggplant parmesan appetizer (which has a bite of my appetizer for Doug to share - ha!):
Doug got linguine with fresh clams that was outstanding:
And needing a seafood break I went with veal piccata (FRESH LEMONS ANYONE?!) and it was amazing:
We were way too full for dessert but they brought us biscotti and limoncello anyway, so we obviously HAD to have that!

View from our seats as the sun was setting after the rain:
We then walked back to our hotel to get packed up to leave in the morning.  Here's the nighttime view from our hotel:

Buona notte!

SUNDAY: ROME! (then home)

It's been a fabulous trip!  Today we awoke early in beautiful Capri, and we were so sad to leave, but we began the trek toward home.  I...
