FRIDAY = CAPRI!

We awoke in Sorrento, had breakfast and headed to the ferry to go to Capri.

It was very close to our hotel and we bought our tickets and boarded the 25 minute ferry - beautiful weather, no crowds.  Just nothing but enjoyable.

Leaving our beautiful hotel with it's jasmine and lemon trees....

 Saying Caio to Sorrento...

Schlepping our bags to the ferry...
Looks crowded, but we moved very quickly to the ferry.  It was about half full.

Ferry selfie...

 Entering Capri

We exited our ferry and a porter from our hotel met us quickly and whisked away our luggage while giving us a pass to take the cable car to the top of Capri.

The Funicolare - entrance to the cable car.
Can you say, "claustrophobia" anyone?
Ugh - crowds

About to have our turn at jumping on the cable car:
Here we go!  UP UP UP!

We made it - with a bit of claustrophobia issues on my part, so...an excuse to stop for a delicious (and much needed) Rose in the piazza.

The La Piazzettais Piazza Umberto I and is the epicenter of Capri.

OK and some unbelievable melon with prosciutto:

We then walked to our hotel, Villa Brunella:
LOTS AND LOTS OF STEPS!
The view from the reception area:
The view overlooking the pool and sunbathing area:
And another level down - gardens:

A stop by the pool while our room is readied:
Giovanni prepared the most amazing lemon (naturally) drink ever:
OK, and a caprese panini:

Our incredible room:
The view:

The outdoor gym:

Heading back out to shop:

Beauty everywhere
All the boutiques have white awnings:

Beautiful Hotel Quisisana
Hotel Q's pool and view:
Shopping in Prada (with a view):
A selfie from the Quisi Bar for our friend Martha:
Great spot for a drink, people watching and just getting off your feet for a spell.  The waitstaff was outstanding here as well.

Now we're back relaxing in our room, reading and gazing at the view with yachts and boats everywhere with the most incredible weather!  NO HUMIDITY!

My husband enjoying some much needed down time:

Dinner at the restaurant in our hotel (supposed to be fabulous) in a few hours...and tomorrow we have another hike day.

More later = CAIO!

DINNER

Here was our view during dinner:

Doug's white bean soup was SO GOOD!
 Killer lobster pasta
Caprese ravioli - fresh and delicious

And perfect ending - a fresh lemon sorbet served in a fresh lemon!

SUNDAY: ROME! (then home)

It's been a fabulous trip!  Today we awoke early in beautiful Capri, and we were so sad to leave, but we began the trek toward home.  I...
